Dozens of high school students in Southern Texas gave a Nazi salute for their class picture, and even praised Adolf Hitler.
According to KPRC in Houston, roughly 70 students at Cypress Ranch High School in Cypress, Texas — just South of Houston — participated in a coordinated stunt in which they raised their right hands with their fingers extended and shouted “Heil Hitler,” which was the traditional salute in Nazi Germany during the Third Reich.
During the photo, students were supposed to hold still for one photo, then take a fun pose for the second. It was during the second photo when students gave a Nazi salute.
An anonymous student who leaked the photo to social media told reporters that their classmates also shouted “Heil Trump,” in addition to saluting Adolf Hitler. The student referred to the stunt as “pretty terrifying.”
“Most people may think it was just kids joking around but in the current political climate and the fact these kids are seniors in high school, it’s beyond unacceptable,” the student told KPRC.
After the school photo caused outrage on social media, Cypress Ranch High School sent the following letter to parents:
