McCain admits he delivered Trump dossier to the FBI

On Wednesday morning, it was revealed that Senator John McCain was the one who gave the 35-page dossier to the FBI alleging Trump paid for sexual acts.

Senator McCain (R-Arizona) issued a public statement on his website confirming his delivery of the intelligence report — which is believed to have been compiled by a former British MI6 officer — to FBI director James Comey.

“Late last year, I received sensitive information that has since been made public,” McCain said in a public statement. “Upon examination of the contents, and unable to make a judgement about their accuracy, I delivered the information to the Director of the FBI. That has been the extent of my contact with the FBI or any other government agency regarding this issue.”

President-elect Trump has seen a two-age synopsis of the report, according to CNN. It’s unclear whether or not the FBI showed him the paragraphs alleging that Russian operatives captured video of the President-elect paying prostitutes for “golden showers,” which is common parlance for a sexual act involving urine.

The collection of intelligence memos that made up the dossier have apparently been circulating around Washington and amongst journalists for several months, but were finally made public yesterday by BuzzFeed. For his part, President-elect Trump called the allegations “fake news” in a Wednesday morning Twitter tirade, questioning whether or not we were “living in Nazi Germany.”
